DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME BORDER PROBLEMS.
Soon Northern NSW- Tweed Heads and South East Queensland - Southern Gold Coast will face the complex problems of DST.
We cannot sit back and allow Queensland to cause enormous problems to businesses on both sides of the border in particular but also to the rest of Australia eg the Airlines.
We have organised an on line e-poll which can be reached on the right side of this blog- just scroll down until you see " Would you like SE Queensland to have DST etc.
The e-poll will only take less than a minute and is completely confidential. The results will be forwarded to the Qld. Premier, Members of Parliament on both sides of the border and local media.
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME AND ENCOURAGE YOUR BUSINESS CONTACTS TO DO THE SAME!!

Hi John, pleased to see a forum on this issue.
I don't mind the "Daylight Saving Time" itself, but I hate having to cope with 2 different time zones as a business. My business is in South Tweed, but a fair bit of my trade is from QLD, and I have to stay open longer to service them. So, longer hours of work but no extra business (they don't get out of bed til half the morning is over.........).
So, my hate is the confusion locally, but there must be a lot of Qld businesses that would rather be on the same time zone as the rest of the East Coast. Let's make a bit of noise.....
PREMIER Anna Bligh stood by her decision to end the daylight saving debate despite many people saying the State Government's latest survey was flawed.
Ms Bligh yesterday ruled out a fresh vote or review of the issue, despite calls from business leaders and community officials for a second opinion.
"It is off the table . . . it is no longer on my agenda," Ms Bligh said, speaking from Sydney where she was urging skilled workers to move north.
But tourism, business and other concerned Queenslanders want a new daylight saving survey because they believe the State Government's recent study, conducted by Nielsen, may not have reflected true opinion across the state.
Concerns include:
• Southeast Queensland was under-represented in a survey of 1000 residents and 600 businesses.
• Some questions referred negatively to the introduction of daylight saving.
• In one question, respondents were initially told "the rest of the state is generally opposed to the idea".
• The question of whether southeast Queensland should be in a separate time zone was preceded by a question about "agreeing in principle" on the idea of daylight saving.
• Some respondents may have been confused about what they were being asked.
• More options to register "drawbacks" of daylight saving were available to questioners than there were "benefits."
Queensland Tourism Industry Council chief executive Daniel Gschwind said results of the Government's survey would be different if the questions were better worded.
